Across the various tools in the News and People Profile System (profilebeatrix.yale.edu), there are a few concepts that are consistent throughout. These instructions will highlight some of those elements and provide tips for general use of the Profile SystemBeatrix.

Changes made to the profile must be saved for them to show up in the preview.

section of Beatrix.People Section: Once in the People section, use the navigation on the left to navigate to other pages in the process of editing a profile.
Save this Section/Next Up (red): This appears in the top right of the page (highlighted above) as well as the bottom of the page.
Many changes update in Beatrix automatically, however, they take about 20 minutes to display on YSM websites. In some cases you will need to click an
Update
button to confirm your changes.
Profile Editors
In the header of the Profile Editing processprofile Overview, you can designate someone as an Editor on your Profile.

Your department has already designated a profile administrator who has access to edit your profile, but you can allow other Yale members to edit as well.
Do do so, click Add New...
in the header (shown below) Editor
to add a new Profile Editor.
Start typing their name in the provided field (shown below) and select from the list.

next to a person’s name (highlighted in yellow above) to remove someone as a Profile Editor.
Information Icons
Throughout the process of editing a profile, many sections and questions come with helpful additional information, which you can reveal by hovering over the “information” icon next to the word (highlighted below in blue).

Missing Required Information
On some pages, like Clinical Trials (shown below), information can be submitted even though it is missing required information

Red Lock/Green Eye Icon
The red lock/ green eye icon used throughout the system is to toggle display on and off.

Red lock means “does not display.”

Green eye means “display on websites”

A gray eye means “you can’t edit this item”
