Managing Newsletter Permissions

Newsletter permissions are set at the template level. In order to edit existing newsletter permissions or grant additional access:

  1. Go to the Newsletter Templates page

  2. Find the template for which you need to manage access and click Edit Access (highlighted in blue below).

  3. In the modal that appears, you can:

    1. Add a new user by clicking + Add New(blue below)

    2. Delete an existing user by clicking the trashcan icon (red below)

    3. Click on an existing user (yellow below) to edit their access.

  4. When adding a new user or modifying existing access, you can set the permissions to either Admin or Viewer.

Newsletter Permission Levels

Users are granted different levels of access based on their permissions.

Admins have access to:

  1. Modify templates

  2. Add/remove access

  3. Create and edit issues

  4. Preview newsletters they have access to

Viewers have access to:

  1. Preview issues of the newsletter templates they have access to

New templates are created by the Web Services team, and you can request a new template by sending an email to ysm.editor@yale.edu or making a ticket with our portal.
