Managing Sections on the T5 News Landing Pages

Introduction

This guide explains how to manage sections on the T5 News Landing Pages, including enabling/disabling sections, reordering, configuring content, and setting featured sections.

1. Accessing the News Landing Page Editor

1. Log in to Beatrix.

2. In the left navigation panel, click News.

3. Select News Landing Page from the submenu.

2. Selecting Your Organization

• If you have access to multiple organizations, use the organization selector at the top of the page to choose the organization whose landing page you wish to manage.

3. Managing Sections

Enabling/Disabling Sections

• Each section (except Top Stories) has a visibility toggle.

  • To enable a section, click the toggle next to the section name so it is set to On.

  • To disable a section, click the toggle so it is set to Off.

  • Only enabled sections will appear on the live landing page. Sections with no content are automatically hidden.

Reordering Sections

• Drag and drop sections to reorder them as needed.

  • Top Stories is always fixed at the top and cannot be moved.

  • Newsletter Signup and Social Media are also fixed in their positions.

  • All other sections can be reordered.

Configuring Section Content

• Click the Configure link or icon next to a section to open its configuration options.

• Each section has unique configuration fields (see Section 4 below).

Setting a Featured Section

• Only one section can be set as the Featured Section at a time.

  • Eligible sections: Video Article, External News, Periodicals, Publications Summary Widget, Events.

  • To set a section as featured, click the star icon next to the section name.

  • The featured section will have a visually distinct blue background.

4. Section-Specific Configuration

Top Stories

• Always appears at the top.

• Cannot be disabled or reordered.

Video Article

• Displays a single video-based article.

• Requires selection of an article with a video in the hero section.

• Set an expiry date (default: 90 days; max: 1 year).

• If expired, the section is removed automatically.

Latest News and Most Read

• Each can be enabled/disabled independently.

• Latest News appears directly below Video Article by default.

• Option to suppress dates in Latest News (toggle available).

• Cannot be set as the featured section.

External News

• Displays up to 4 curated external news articles (excluding Yale News).

• Add, remove, or reorder articles using drag-and-drop.

• Set a custom section title (default: "In the News").

• Set expiry dates for each article.

• If fewer than 4 articles are curated, the system fills remaining slots automatically based on organization rules.

• Includes a call-to-action button labeled More [Custom Title].

Periodicals

• Feature a specific issue of a periodical (e.g., Yale Medicine Magazine).

• Configure cover image, summary, subheading, article teasers, and CTA button.

• Optionally display a “View All Issues” link.

Publications Summary Widget

• Displays summaries of academic or clinical publications.

• Can be reordered and set as featured.

Events

• Add up to 3 events, set order via drag-and-drop.

• Set expiry dates (default: 14 days or event start date; max: 6 months, not after event end date).

• Add new events from approved events for the organization.

Newsletter Signup

• Fixed position; can be enabled or disabled.

Social Media

• Fixed position; can be enabled or disabled.
