Import Content Sections from Text (Microsoft Word)

Import Content Sections from Text (Microsoft Word)

The News Editor allows users to import text from Microsoft Word for easier article creation.

After adding any required fields in the Article Info section, users can now select the Import Article Text button within the Article Content Section.

You will be prompted to paste in text from a Microsoft Word document then click Import Article Text in the modal window to import text from an Microsoft Word document. This will strip out code more effectively, allowing you to quickly apply subheads for your content section. The tool will import into a single content block.

This screenshot shows where the Import Article Text button is within the Article Content Section.

Please do not include Title or H1 format text in the pasted text, and do use H2’s to split up sections of text. Other formatting like H3’s and H4’s, bold, italics, links, etc. are supported.

This screenshot shows the modal window that will allow users to paste in content from a Microsoft Word file and has a link to a sample Word File, with minimal styling or formating.

Pro Tips:

  • Resolve or remove all comments or track changes in your Word file.

  • Do not include the article “Title” or “H1” when you cut and paste since those are already in the Article Info section of the Beatrix News article.

  • After you have imported your text, assign your H3 or H4s to your text subheads. (Do not skip H3s for purely stylistic reasons. These subheadings are structured for ADA compliance.
