Things to Know

Nothing is straightforward. Here are some possible issues:

  1. Use of the Yale name: Vendors are not allowed to list any Yale logo on their website or list Yale as a client without approval from the Trademark office.

  2. PSCA vs Creative PSA vs Terms: Photographers, writers, illustrators and other creative freelancers can use the simpler Creative PSA contract, while larger vendors must use the PSCA. In addition, some software vendors have a ”terms” document that Yale will sign (or negotiate) without requiring a PSCA.

  3. Payment terms: The PSCA standard language gives Yale 45 days to pay an invoice. For small freelancers, this can usually be adjusted to 15 days. For larger agencies or vendors, Yale will sometimes accept 30 days.

  4. Signing authority: Only Purchasing can sign agreements. We do not have the authority to sign contracts or documents on behalf of Yale.
