Beatrix.yale.edu allows you to manage various types of information associated with a person’s profile.

The following instructions will explain how to manage and edit a person’s Education history.

 To begin managing Education information:

  1. Visit https://beatrix.yale.edu

  2. Log in with your NetID and password

  3. Click People in the navigation.

  4. Find and select the profile you want to edit (see Edit a Profile for more information).

  5. Click Education in the navigation.

Adding Education Information

Some of the education information may have been supplied by Yale HR, but you can add additional degrees in this section if you want.

  • To add a degree, click Add New... at the bottom of the section and fill out the fields that pop up. Required fields are:

    • Degree, Institutions

    • End Date

    • Country

    • City/State/Region.


  1. Choose from the Degree drop-down list to indicate what kind of degree (MD, PhD, JD, etc.)

  2. Type in the Institution the degree was obtained from.

  3. Specifying the Department or Major is optional.

  4. Indicate the Date the degree was received using the Calendar tool.

  5. Click the Date Displayed red lock/green eye if you want the date to display online.

  6. Click the check box next to Include in my suffix list if you want the suffix associated with this degree to appear as an option in your suffixes.

  7. Enter the Location of the institution.

    • Select the Country with the drop-down menu

    • Begin typing in the location (City, State) and select from the choices that populate the field.

  8. Click Update when you are done entering the information to add the degree to Education.

  9. Determine the Privacy of the degree by using the red lock/green eye icon (Public or Private).

Managing Educational Information

You can edit or delete educational information, but only what has not been supplied by HR. Information you can edit is in bold, as shown in the picture below.

  • Any educational information from degrees you have added can be edited.

  • Department or Major as well as Privacy and Location for any information (included degrees supplied by HR) can be edited.


Click Request Change... if you want to change information added by HR.

The education information that is both marked Public and Display on Websites will populate on the website associated with the profile in the About section under Education & Training (shown below):
