Users will be directed to the “Embed Widget” from provider profiles and department pages. There are two entry points:
1. Provider profiles
If a provider has only one specialty:
Show a “Make an Appointment Online” button on the provider’s profile page.
When user clicks button, begin workflow below.
If a provider has multiple specialties:
Show a “Make an Appointment Online” heading with buttons beneath for each specialty. We’ll ask the user to select a specialty.
When user clicks button, begin workflow below.
Shared Workflow
When the user clicks the button, we’ll open a new page that displays a generic message at the top “Upcoming appointments are listed below. If you would like to book an appointment sooner than the available times, or if you would like to speak with our care coordinators before booking an appointment, please call 1 (877) 925-3637.” and display the widget below.
The widget will add the correct providers to the appointment possibilities based on decision tree answers.
2. Department page
When the user clicks “Book an Appointment” from the department page (i.e. https://www.yalemedicine.org/departments/pediatric-rheumatology), open a page that displays upcoming appointment availability for a group of providers based on Epic departments (https://projects.invisionapp.com/share/TW130TK0C7S2#/screens ).
Department widget designs
The department widget styles live on the YNHH MyChart server and are used across any website that uses the widget, including YNHH, Yale Medicine, etc. Below is a common style created in collaboration with the YNHH team that will be implemented across all sites. On YaleMedicine.org, we’ll show this widget when the user clicks “Book an Appointment” from the department page (i.e. https://www.yalemedicine.org/departments/pediatric-gastroenterology-and-hepatology) or if a provider does not have any appointments in the next 30 days and the user wants to see other available providers.
