Status Update: October 5, 2022

Below is brief overview of the work done from September 24 - October 4 to launch Epic Open Scheduler on YaleMedicine.org for selected Pediatric specialties. Current launch is scheduled for October 11, 2022.

Achievements this week

1. Implementation completed. Implementation was completed on provider profiles and organization profiles on the YM website in development (click the “Make an Appointment” button to view). Must be on the YNHH VPN to see widget.

2. Decision tree text revised. The communications teams reviewed all decision tree text and provided patient-friendly replacements. (Read more)

3. Return appointments can be made through widget. The YNHH team is enabling both new and return appointments through the widget to improve the patient experience. (Read more)

Challenges

1. Outstanding data issues. The team has identified numerous data issues that continue to be problematic. These must be resolved this week. (Read more)

2. Testing data. The YM and YNHH teams need to complete further testing before going live on October 11. (Read more)

3. Available appointments. Of the 59 people going live, 21 have appointment availability in October. Most only have one slot available.
