Introduction to Beatrix CMS: Pages

 

In the following instructions, you will learn how to create a page within a directory:

Pages are built to display content on your website. For any content to appear on your site, whether it be text, images, documents, maps, etc., a content block or item containing that content must be placed on a page.

Creating a Page


 

To create a new Page:

  1. Navigate to the Pages folder where you'd like to create a new page.

  2. In the Context Nav (…) tab (highlighted in red above), click  Create Child Page.

 

Enter the properties for the Page in the pop-up. (shown below):

 

Finding and Adding Content Items

Click on Edit Page Content to add or create content to your page.

  • If no items are inserted, the page will be blank.

To display content on your page, click either on Browse for Content or Create Content.

  1. Locate the folder with the first item you'd like to add to the page.

  2. Select the component by clicking once.

  3. You must also select a Template from the drop down menu

  4. After you have selected the content item and the Layout View (or template style), hit the Add Content button.


    The Content Item will now appear in the Page.

  5. Repeat steps 1-4 until you've listed all of the components you need on the page. Some pages may only contain one component.

  6. When you are done adding components, you may publish.

 

Create New Content works the same way, allowing you to build a new piece of content from the Pages Folder.

 

  1. Back on the Page, check to make sure your content items appear in the right order on your page.

    • This is determined by how they are listed.

      • For example, place Banners or Page Titles at the top of the list to ensure that they display at the top of the page online.

    • To change a component's position on the list, click the component and then click the Move up or Move down buttons as needed.
