Publications Feeds

Some organizations and labs will want to list recent publications. The Web Services team can add a feed of publications that automatically updates using a search query that pulls information from PubMed or by using Publications by Org.

Both options eliminate the hassle of having to continuously update your publications page and writing citations.

Publications by Org

This option allows an automatic import of the publications imported into your members' profiles using Dimensions AI. You may select to import all or opt to review publications before they display on the website. The list adjusts to the current membership of the organization, so if someone leaves the group, their publications will fall off. This option allows for filtering by author or date. Here is an example.

Building the Search Query in PubMed

You can build a PubMed search query based on names, affiliations, time frames, and many other elements that will pull the relevant publications you want to display.

1. Visit the PubMed Advanced Search Builder

2. In the query box, add search terms that are particular to your organization. 

   • TIPS: Make sure you select the correct field from the drop down menu. Using the correct author names and also entering Yale as as an "All Fields" search will produce an accurate list.

3. Click Search to view the publications that appear. There is a possibility that your search list will include publications that are not related to your organization.

   • If you need assistance in limiting the search, please do not hesitate to contact the Office of Communications and we will work with you to create more precise search terms.

4. At the top of the search results window, you will see a field that includes all of the search terms you entered. If you are happy with the search results, copy the search terms and return them to the Web Team by emailing ysm.editor@yale.edu or making a ticket with our portal. Please include the link and the details for where on your site you want the PubMed feed to appear. If you have an open ticket with the team related to the feed, you can return the search query to us by replying to the ticket.
