Calendar Listings

The YSM Office of Communications frequently receives requests for assistance with inserting and/or editing calendars. While we provide instructions for how to implement a calendar on your site, we do not edit the content on your organization's calendar, such as editing existing events.

Tridion uses Calendar data from the Profile System to fill out the Calendar listings.

For information about adding or editing Calendars in the Profile system, please see the https://ysmweb.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HELP/pages/1709277772 section of instructions.

The following instructions provide information on creating Calendar Listings in Tridion using Profile System data, as well as the different display options for those Listings.

    • You can find the Calendar’s page name in the profile system.

      • Click on the Organizations tab in the top navigation.

      • Find the organization in the list or use the Filter field to narrow the list.

      • Click the pencil/edit icon to the right of the organization.

      • Click Calendars in the left navigation for the organization.

      • In the Calendars List section, click the pencil/edit icon next to the Calendar you want to use for your listing.

      • You will find the alias in the Page Name field.

  6. Show events in the past or the future?: Select if you would like this calendar to display events from the Future or from the Past.

    • Most calendars should use Future, the Past option is only to display an archive of past events.

  7. The field for Number of events to display will be pre-populated with 10, change this to display more or less events based on your departments calendared items.

  8. The field for Number of days to display will be pre-populated with 30 days, this can be adjusted.

    • To show all events in the next year just enter 365.

  9. If you are using a calendar alias and that calendar uses keywords, the Keywords to Display field allows you to limit this calendar to display ONLY items tagged with those keywords.

    • Click the green + icon to add a keyword (highlighted in green above).

    • Once you’ve added keywords, you can delete them with the trashcan icon or sort them with the move icon (highlighted in green above).

  10. Filter by audience: Use these check boxes to determine which types of events in the Calendar are displayed.

When you have added the desired information, click Save and Close (highlighted in blue above), and you are ready to add it to a page.
