Event Highlights

The Event Highlight component allows you to display a Single Event or a Single Occurrence of an Event in a page on Tridion.

The Event Highlight uses calendar data from the Beatrix Events module.

The following instructions provide information on creating Event Highlights using Beatrix CMS.

Creating an Event Highlight Component

The first step in creating an Event Highlight is to create the content block component either from Beatrix CMS' page view or directly in a content folder.

1. Enter an appropriate Name for your component.

2. Choose Event Highlight from the Template drop down menu

3. Select the Event Occurence from the Calendar.

• For a Single event, there is only the one occurrence.

• For a Multi-Session or Recurring event, you need to specify which Occurrence you want to highlight with its individual ID.

• Use the filters to find your event occurence and select it.

4. Next, Add or Update the component.

5. If you are in the Content Folder you are ready to add it to a page. (See Beatrix Basics).

6. Then you may publish your page.

The screenshot below shows what an Event Highlight component looks like on a page:

The Event Highlight (highlighted in yellow above) is large and takes up the full width of the main column of the page. The displayed information includes:

1. The Date and Time of the occurrence.

2. The Speaker(s) at the occurrence.

3. The Title of the occurrence.

4. The Audience of the event.

5. Links to the Occurrence and the ability to add the event or occurrence to a Calendar.

Additionally, if you click on the Title, you can see the rest of the information for the event.
